Job Description

Inventive Print Solutions are seeking a Digital Print Production Apprentice to join their busy graphic design studio based just outside Barnstaple.
Inventive Print Solutions operate a full service graphic design agency equipped to cater for any graphic design project brief, from a logo design to a multi-page brochure. The in-house graphic designers deliver cost effective and creative design solutions for their clients. The following graphic design services are offered: Logo Design & Branding, Brochures, Stationery, Leaflets & Posters, Web Design and Exhibition Design. The company also offers a comprehensive range of printing services, ranging from short run digital print to large runs on web presses, designed to provide clients with a one stop shop for all printing requirements.
As an apprentice you will work full-time for the company, preparing client artwork for print. You will learn how to design effectively for print, using design software, image processing, page layout and proof preparation. In addition, you will work towards a Digital Print Production Apprenticeship with Plymouth College of Art. This will be delivered via work-based assessments and monthly attendance at taught sessions at a venue in Exeter. Attendance at Plymouth College of Art will be required occasionally for periodic examinations.
Successful candidates will be creative, with a keen eye for detail and an appreciation of good design. A good level of IT competence is essential, as is a minimum of grade C in GCSE English due to the proofreading required in this role. You will be working closely to a client brief and it is essential that you have a professional approach to work and can display strong time management skills which enable you to meet tight deadlines. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to gain design and print industry knowledge and experience as well as an industry recognised qualification, in order to prepare them for a position as a trainee graphic designer.

Job Description

21st Century Screen Printers (www.21csp.co.uk) was founded in 1986, the company has grown to be a major player in the industry. Due to expansion the size of the offices and print room is now over 5000 sq ft, located just outside Torquay on the main route into the Torbay area. As screen printing is so specialised, all the staff are trained in-house by the owner with design, right through to finishing carried out in-house. Mac and PC computers are used for design and graphic vinyl plotter for larger designs.
Screen printing is one of the most versatile printing methods around and 21st Century Screen Printers are a traditional screen printing company with the latest UV technology, from hand benches to semi and automatic machines. Printing on virtually any surface, any material, as long as it is relatively flat. This includes any size, any thickness and any quantity, single colour to multi colours, from one-offs to many thousands, including repetitive batch productions. They supply small local companies to huge multinationals.

The Screen Print Apprentice will work full-time for the company in the machine and hand print area of the business. In addition, the apprentice will work towards a Machine Printing (Screen) Apprenticeship with Plymouth College of Art. This will be delivered via onsite assessments and monthly attendance at taught sessions at the College. Attendance at Plymouth College of Art will also be required occasionally for periodic examinations.
This vacancy will suit someone with an interest in design and print. Successful candidates will be practical, with a keen eye for detail and an appreciation of the importance of quality and consistency. As you will be working with machinery, an understanding of the need for safe working practices is essential. You will work closely with a team of staff, receiving supervision and training, yet be able to demonstrate initiative. You will also be required to respond to enquiries in a customer focussed business and therefore it is essential that you possess excellent communication skills. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to gain screen print knowledge and experience, and a print industry recognised qualification.

Photo Imaging Apprenticeship

Job Description
Seven Springs Studios delivers outstanding commercial photography, producing inspiring and engaging images for product launches, advertising campaigns, pr events, marketing, brochures, websites, property portfolios, packaging and pack shots. These are shot within the fully equipped studio in Dorchester or on location. The studio also offers fashion and portrait shoots and stunning and evocative wedding photography and some video production.
With 20 years working with clients such as Dyson, Adidas, Marstons, Pedigree, Fortnum and Mason, award winning photographer, Andy Whale (AOP and ABIPP), translates his passion and experience into images that inspire, communicate and sell.
There is now an opportunity for an Apprentice to join the company and train as an Assistant Photographer. Within this role, the apprentice will be involved in all aspects of the business, assisting in photo shoots, editing images, production and presentation of images, cataloguing and archiving of images, marketing and client management, and supporting the daily running of the studio.
This vacancy will suit someone with an interest in photography, but most importantly the desire to be hands on in a job role where you will learn from the ground up. Successful candidates will be practical, with a keen eye for detail and an appreciation of the importance of quality, consistency and a customer focussed approach. Existing knowledge and understanding of Photoshop software would be beneficial, but not essential.
You will work closely with the business owner, receiving supervision and training, yet be able to demonstrate initiative where necessary. You will also be required to respond to enquiries in a customer focussed business and therefore it is essential that you possess excellent communication skills and can demonstrate a professional approach. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to gain knowledge, experience and a qualification in the Photographic industry.
